- LabPlot – data analysis and visualisation software
For figures…
- GIMP – image manipulation software
- ImageMagick – a very powerful graphics manipulation tool that can be used from the Linux command line (examples of ImageMagick features)
- Inkscape – vector graphics program, produces really nice figures for publications/presentations and can be used to improve figures output from Gnuplot; the Inkscape Wiki is a good source for documentation and tutorials
- POV-Ray – for 3D pictures, good for fancy presentation figures although takes time to learn
